Maintenance Engineer Assistant

• Perform the duties to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the Company in good repair. This includes but is not limited to preventive, emergency, corrective and routine repairs in electrical, mechanical, fire/ life safety, plumbing, HVAC equipment or any other retail projects requested by management. Responsibilities also include painting/ carpenter duties as directed to maintain the interior and exterior physical structure of the building
• Perform all duties in a safe manner; follow all safety rules as listed.
• Assist in designing maintenance strategies, procedures and methods
• Assist in planning and scheduling planned and unplanned work.
• Assist in maintain HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire/ life safety and other associated equipment to maximize efficiency levels.
• Perform maintenance painting and carpenter repairs as prioritized by management.
• Assist in the assessment of facility conditions and trend for proper planning of maintenance
- Ensure execution of established safety, security and store operations policies, procedures and practices.
- Assist in arranging specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components.
- Assist in budgeting, monitoring and controlling maintenance costs.
- Assist in dealing with emergency and unplanned problems and repairs.
- Assist in writing maintenance strategies to help with installation and
commissioning guidelines.
- Assist in troubleshooting and work with the Maintenance Supervisor to execute
maintenance plans. - Assist in communication with external experts and suppliers.
- Work as assigned (day, evening, nights, weekends) and as required by emergency situations.
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision
• Must be familiar with all relevant government regulations
• Must be a good physical shape and ability to lift 50 pounds
• Basic craftsman skills in painting and carpentry repairs
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems
• Must be accurate and reliable
• In procession of reliable transportation and driver’s license
• Must be flexible, a team player, work good with others
• Must be professional, organized and work quickly
• Strong knowledge and experience in electrical systems, plumbing, mechanical equipment, as well as in the maintenance of these types of systems
• Needs a strong work ethic and a positive approach to occupation
• Must be able to follow instructions
• Safety-first oriented
• Must have a technical diploma
• Must have experience working with technical, carpentry, plumbing and electrical process
• Must speak and read English and Papiamento
